The 3-strike rule at igitems is a critical component of our efforts to ensure a safe and fair trading environment. It helps us maintain appropriate behaviors that do not meet our community standards, while still allowing people a chance to make minor mistakes.

How the 3-Strike System Works

  1. Warnings Issued: Sellers receive warnings for violations of platform rules or inappropriate behavior.

  2. Warning expiration: A warning is considered active for three months from its date. If a warning expires without further infractions, it becomes inactive and does not count towards the 3-strike limit.

  3. Three Active Warnings: Accumulating three active warnings makes your account permanently limited.

Communication of Warnings

  1. Notification Method: Warnings are communicated through the igitems platform and via email. Sellers are prompted on IGITEMS to check their email for details.

  2. Monitoring Responsibilities: Sellers must monitor their registered email and igitems notifications to stay informed about any warnings and their status.

Consequences of Accumulating Warnings

  1. Permanent Limitations: Reaching three active warnings results in permanent selling restrictions on igitems.

  2. Account Access: Despite these restrictions, sellers can still access their accounts to manage orders and withdraw funds.

  3. Reinstatement: These limitations do not automatically lift with the expiration of warnings.

Reasons for Issuing Warnings

  1. Order Mishandling: Improper handling of orders or buyer issues.

  2. Guideline Non-Compliance: Failure to adhere to seller guidelines and sales procedures.

  3. Inappropriate Behavior: Poor conduct towards igitems staff or other users.

  4. Issuing Authorities: Warnings are issued by dispute agents, live chat agents, or administrative staff.

How to Prevent Warnings

  1. Stay Informed: Regularly review and understand the seller guidelines available on the igitems Knowledgebase and platform.

  2. Seek Clarifications: Utilize live chat to ask questions if any guidelines or procedures are unclear.

  3. Compliance: Ensure all transactions and interactions on the platform comply with igitems rules and maintain professionalism with all parties.

By adhering to these guidelines, sellers can avoid behaviors that lead to warnings, thereby maintaining their ability to sell and thrive on igitems.
