Verification is crucial for ensuring that igitems remains a secure and trustworthy marketplace. It confirms user identities and protects both buyers and sellers during transactions.

How to Verify

• Initiating Verification: Start the process from Account Settings on your igitems dashboard.

• System Used: We use Sumsub to securely check submitted documents, confirm identities, and ensure authenticity.

Benefits of Verification

• Verified Badge: A badge appears next to your username after successful verification, increasing your credibility.

• Feature Access: Verified sellers unlock additional features. See the Seller Levels article for details.

Privacy and Security

• Confidential Handling: Documents are processed securely by Sumsub.

• No Third-Party Sharing: Verification data is never shared with third parties.

• Data Protection: igitems and Sumsub comply with strict data protection regulations.

Requirements and Rules

• Buyers: Verification is required when purchasing accounts, high-value items, or top-ups with a value of $30 or more.

• Sellers:

  • Required after your first sale or to upload 3+ offers.

  • ID Verification: Must provide valid, up-to-date ID.

  • Address Verification:

    • Mandatory from Seller Level 25.

    • Also required for crypto withdrawals.

• ID Continuity: If a verified person needs to be changed on the account, igitems may review the account before allowing new verification.

• Age Requirement:

  • Users must be 18+ to verify independently.

  • Minors must verify through a family member.

• Mandatory Verification Threshold: At $400 total transactions, verification becomes mandatory. A grace period is provided before restrictions apply.

• No Evasion: Creating new accounts to avoid verification is fraudulent and can result in account suspension.

Consequences of Not Verifying

• Restricted Access:

  • Sellers cannot continue making sales.

  • Buyers cannot complete purchases.

• Suspicious Activity: Verification may be requested if fraud is suspected. Failure to verify can result in frozen transactions and limited account access.

Cost of Verification (Sellers)

• No upfront cost.

• At Seller Level 15, a small fee may apply (generally $2–$3).

Unavailable Countries

• Verification may not be supported in some regions.

• If your country is missing from the list, verification is unavailable. Veteran sellers may still reach out to us on Live-Chat to apply directly.

• Sellers with strong experience may apply via Live Chat for exceptions.
