The basics
Issue reporting: Please immediately open a dispute so the seller is alerted of the problem. Try to work with the other party to resolve the issue
You can not open a dispute within 15 minutes of placing your order, so the feature is mainly used when not necessary.
Escalation: If you cannot resolve the issue or if the other party does not even respond, after 24 hours of opening it you may escalate the case to igitems and our team will step in to help. We generally reply within a few hours.
Auto escalation: The dispute is automatically escalated if the seller does not attend to the case within 24 hours, or if after 3 days still no solution was found.
Step-by-Step Dispute Process
Immediate Dispute Opening:
If an issue arises with a transaction, it's crucial to open a dispute immediately. This action signals to Igitems to hold the funds securely, preventing any further action on the payment until the dispute is resolved.
Attempt Resolution:
Once a dispute is opened, both parties are encouraged to communicate directly within the Igitems platform to attempt a resolution. This step is vital, as it often leads to a quicker and mutually satisfactory outcome.
Igitems Intervention:
If the buyer and seller cannot reach an agreement independently, or if one party is unresponsive, Igitems will step in to mediate. Our team will review the dispute, considering all provided evidence and communications.
Providing Evidence:
Both parties should submit any relevant evidence through the dispute system. This includes transaction records, communication logs, and any other documentation that supports their position.
Resolution and Outcome:
Mutual Agreement: If both parties come to an agreement, the dispute can be resolved accordingly, with funds released as agreed.
Platform Decision: In cases where a mutual agreement isn't reached, Igitems will make a final decision based on the evidence. This decision is aimed at ensuring fairness and upholding the integrity of the marketplace.
Importance of Opening a Dispute
Security of Funds: Opening a dispute ensures that the funds from the transaction are securely held by Igitems until the issue is resolved. This is a critical measure to protect both buyer and seller interests.
Record of Issue: It creates an official record of the issue, which is essential for mediation and resolution.
Access to Mediation: It grants access to Igitems’ mediation process, providing an impartial review and resolution based on the platform's policies and the evidence provided.
Conclusion
The dispute resolution process is a fundamental aspect of maintaining trust and security on Igitems. By ensuring that disputes are opened for any transaction issue, we safeguard the interests of our community, providing a structured path to resolution. This process underscores our commitment to upholding a fair, secure, and reliable marketplace for all users.
